Traditional Homemade Italian Food in a Modern Atmosphere
"Italy in your Coffee Cup"
The original Resto Café Maurizio, belonging to the Zito family, has been serving its most loyal customers in Rome for the last thirty-three years. The West Island is now also intitled to this quality service since Maurizio Zito left his native Italy for Montreal, ten years ago, and opened a new branch here. Located in Kirkland, Resto Café Maurizio allows you to take a trip to Italy at the cost of a great cup of coffee. In a very relaxed ambiance, you can enjoy a cappuccino or espresso with a delicious piece of cake or pie, croissant or strudel. Or, succumb to a Moccacino Maurizio which awaits you with layers of chocolate sirop, milk and espresso all floating superimposed.
However, the Resto Café Maurizio is not solely a coffee shop. It is rather a one of a kind concept in Montreal where you can find everything under one roof, from breakfast to supper. Its breakfasts, served weekdays from 7 am to 12 pm and weekends from 7 am to 3 pm, are famous. The secret? The Maurizio roasted potatoes! "Many poeple tell me that they come have breakfast on Sundays just because they can't resist our potatoes!", explains M. Zito. You can accompany your potatoes with eggs, omelets or waffles... Pasta and sandwiches are also served here all day long. Pastas of all kinds are assorted with fifteen different varieties of sauces, M. Zito likes to improvise. There is also, of course, eight choices of Italian wines to complet your meal selection. Furthermore, table service is offered and you can place orders over the telephone and then pick them up at the restaurant.
Moreover, freshness is top priority at Resto Café Maurizio. Everything is made on location, and that which isn't, the owner has imported directly from Italy; which is the case for the pasta and the coffee beans. There may be no exceptions to the rule: "Everything must taste different than what you can find at other cafés, everything must taste like Italy", maintains M. Zito. You may even reserve for festivities during the holiday season.
